Joanne keeps the pois in cocoa — cream dots ranked in even rows across deep chocolate silk, each one finely lined so it catches the light like woven thread. A sixties polka dot warmed all the way down. Wear it with camel, cream or raw denim.

Hand-wash in cool water with a drop of mild detergent, or a dedicated silk wash. Do not soak it for more than a few minutes, and never wring or twist it. Press the water out gently between your palms or a towel. Keep it out of the washing machine and the tumble dryer.

Dry it flat or hang it in the shade, away from direct sun and radiators, and take it down while it is still slightly damp. Iron on the lowest silk setting, on the reverse, while it is still a little damp, or hold a steamer a few inches away. Do not press hard over the hem, so the edge keeps its soft shape.

Spray perfume and hairspray before you put the scarf on, because alcohol marks silk. Store it loosely folded or rolled, out of direct light, and avoid plastic, which traps moisture. Treat marks quickly with cool water and patience, never heat. The longer version is in how to care for a silk scarf.

The squares run from 53 cm to 88 cm. A 53 cm square is the easy place to start: it knots at the throat, ties to a bag handle or winds through a chignon without bulk. From 65 cm up there is enough fabric for a headscarf, a halter or a belt. Each product page lists the exact size for that design.
