Alva is black, with soft grey waves that run from the brim up to the crown. A light, close knit for every day; good with denim and a black or grey coat.

Dimensions: 23 x 20 cm laid flat, one size | Dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly.

Hand-wash in cool water with a little mild detergent, or follow the care label if it allows a gentle machine wash. Do not wring or twist. Press the water out between your palms or a towel, then dry the beanie flat, away from radiators and direct sun, and reshape it while it is still damp.

Do not tumble dry or iron it: heat flattens brushed and chunky knits. If the surface pills where it rubs, lift the bobbles with a fabric shaver. Store it folded rather than on a hook, so it keeps its shape.

One size, knitted to stretch. Each beanie lists its size laid flat in the description, so the easiest check is to measure a beanie you already like and compare.

Each style has its own blend, listed in full under Materials & Care on every page. The brushed jacquard, stripe and wave beanies are mostly polyester with a small share of wool, the chunky beanie mixes polyester and acrylic with 7% wool, and the eyelet beanies are acrylic and cotton.

Any knit can pill a little where it rubs, under a hood or a coat collar, and brushed knits show it first. A fabric shaver lifts the bobbles off in a minute; the Materials & Care tab has the rest.
